About- Exploring Perspectives on Spiritual Self-Transformation*

NOTE- this group meets every Tuesday.
The idea of spiritual self-transformation involves the slow and gradual shift from a conditioned, habitual approach to life to a more actual, real experience that allows a deep inner wisdom to prevail.
Further, the Theosophical Society posits that a unified field of consciousness underlies all existence and that mankind’s highest consciousness is one, that we are truly a human brotherhood. In fact, this is the society’s first object: to form a nucleus of Universal Brotherhood of Humanity without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste or color. The process of spiritual self-transformation aids us in the realization of this oneness.
The aim of this group is to explore the relationship between our spiritual and material (body, mind & emotions) natures for the purpose of spiritual development. We will explore this relationship through contemplative reading, and direct observational studies in our daily lives.
The reading material has been chosen based on the common thread of spiritual self-transformation, presenting different perspectives by various authors. The material ranges in focus from psychology and self-mastery to deep insight into the evolution of the one unified consciousness as it relates to human spiritual transformation (human regeneration).
*Note- this is not an intellectual study seeking answers, rather, we seek to touch what lies beyond the mind through deep, thoughtful questioning and inner quietude guided by the wisdom teaching.

Come explore the foundational eastern philosophies that the Theosophical teachings are based on. Meet like-minded members and share your interests of this vast subject while enjoying coffee and doughnuts.
These Saturday sessions will follow the format below:
– Viewing of a 45 – 75-minute Theosophical Society lecture video
– A discussion prompted by the video.
The videos and discussions will be directed towards the following core theosophy subjects: The Rig Veda, The Upanishads, Plato, Bhagavad Gita, Madame Blavatsky, Kali Yuga, Lord Buddha, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Eclectic Theosophical System, Adi Shankaracharya.
