Theosophical Society of Greater Cleveland
Besant Lodge

About

The Theosophical Society, organized in 1875 and first headquartered in New York City, was formed to investigate the nature of the universe and humanity's place in it, to promote understanding of other cultures and to be a nucleus of universal brotherhood among all human beings. The Secret Doctrine and other esoteric writings of H. P. Blavatsky provide the foundational teachings of this organization.

This Besant Branch of the Theosophical Society has been actively involved in the Cleveland area since 1921. Educational programs to encourage comparative study of world religions are offered on a weekly basis. Workshops and special programs are offered throughout the year. Meditation classes and practices are open to everyone seeking inner peace and harmony.

Today, the TS National Headquarters is located in Wheaton, Illinois. Membership applications are processed through the Besant Branch and provide membership privileges at both the national and local levels.

A printed monthly schedule can be obtained by a telephone request. Please call (216) 741-2082 and clearly state your name and mailing address. You may also leave an e-mail request at: besantlodge@clevelandtheosophy.org.

O HIDDEN LIGHT SHINING IN EVERY CREATURE,
O HIDDEN LOVE EMBRACING ALL IN ONENESS,
MAY ALL WHO FEEL THEMSELVES AS ONE WITH THEE,
KNOW THAT THEY ARE THEREFORE ONE WITH EVERY OTHER.
